Herbal Teas – The Tradition of Blending Herbs

Herbal teas are blends of several different herbs, a tradition that has existed in many cultures where different plants have been combined both for taste and as part of everyday herbal knowledge.The tradition of blending herbsBlending several herbs instead of using a single one is an ancient practice in European folk medicine, where recipe book after recipe book collected combinations passed down through generations.Examples of herbs often included in traditional blends Dandelion root, yarrow flowers, rosehip, marigold Anise, caraway, fennel, peppermint Birch leaves, horsetail, cornflower Linden flower, elderflower, coltsfoot leaves, chamomile, thyme Red clover flower, nettle leaves, hibiscus flower PreparationMost herbal teas are brewed in the same way as regular tea: 1-2 teaspoons of herbal blend per cup of freshly boiled water, steep for 5-10 minutes depending on the coarseness of the herbs. Our pH teas are an example of ready-made herbal blends of this type.

5 warming drinks for cold season

Immune Boost1 piece fresh ginger, 1 clove garlic, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp honey.Boil 5 dl water with ginger and garlic. Pour the strained drink over turmeric in a cup, add honey when the drink has cooled.Ginger Shot1 tbsp finely grated ginger, 1 squeezed lemon, 5 tbsp water, 3/4 tbsp honey. Mix and blend, strain and drink.Turmeric Shot1.5 dl fruit juice, 1 tbsp turmeric, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp coconut oil. Blend with a blender or shaker.Warming drink with garlic and honey10 cloves garlic, 4 dl water, 0.5 dl apple cider vinegar, 1 lemon, 4 tbsp honey. Simmer the garlic in the water, strain, stir in the other ingredients.Ginger Shot for the whole week400g fresh ginger, 2 lemons, 1 liter water, 3 tbsp honey. Blend the ginger with water, let stand, strain, add lemon and honey.
